ELK LANDING AND THE HOLLINGSWORTHS...

In short, the British tried to attack Elkton but the newly born country of the United States was able to push them back. I was going to build a page for this topic, but there is already a very very informative site at: ElkLanding.org . After reading the main page of the site, check out the menu to the left where it says "Research"!! They have a TON of very detailed, downloadable PDF's. MY KIND OF SITE!! More information than the average reader needs, but for those info hogs, this site does a great job.

What I didn't see on this site was the George Washington papers that relate to Elk Landing. THE General George Washington (1st U.S. President) asked COL.
